Network referrals

Specialist access

A six-week wait for an orthopaedic opinion while a worker sits at home on full pay is not a plan — it is a cost blowout. We maintain referral relationships with specialists who understand workers' comp timelines and documentation requirements, and we send them referrals that actually get answered.

How it works

Referrals are made on clinical merit with explicit questions for the specialist, all prior investigations attached, and context on the worker's role and physical demands. This is not a generic "please see and advise" letter — it is a structured clinical handover that respects the specialist's time and gets a useful report back faster.

After the specialist appointment, we review the findings and integrate recommendations into the overall injury management or case management plan. Employers are not left coordinating between multiple providers who do not talk to each other.

What's included

  • Referrals to orthopaedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, pain medicine specialists, and psychiatrists
  • Allied health coordination — physiotherapy, psychology, occupational therapy, exercise physiology
  • Referral letters with explicit clinical questions, prior investigations attached, and context on job demands
  • Expected report turnaround communicated upfront where possible
  • Post-specialist review to integrate recommendations into the overall treatment plan
  • Employer update summarising specialist findings and implications for return-to-work

Who this is for

  • Injuries that require surgical opinion, pain management input, or psychiatric assessment beyond GP scope.
  • Claims where the insurer has requested an independent specialist review and you need coordination, not just a name.
  • Workers who have been waiting weeks for a public or private specialist appointment and the claim is stalling as a result.
  • Complex multi-provider cases where physiotherapy, psychology, and medical treatment need to be aligned under one treatment plan.
